Catalytic Converters

Catalytic Converters

All of our catalytic converters are California Compliant with the Automotive Emission Regulations and Smog Requirements. We keep a diverse selection of OEM-equivalent and performance catalytic converters in stock, primarily from our preferred brands: Magnaflow, Catco, Car Sound, Walker, and more. We also have accounts set up with major dealerships: Lexus, Nissan, Toyota, Ford, Chevy and more. We can order any OEM or aftermarket catalytic converters and other exhaust system components as needed, and have them available within one to two days. Because we do a lot of business with our wholesalers and keep our overhead costs low, we're able to offer prices that are typically 20-40% less than major dealers. Most of the catalytic converters we sell are backed by a 5-year or 50,000-mile manufacturer warranty.

Free Estimates

Catalytic converter repair or replacement may be required when a car fails a smog check, has a power issue, or has a check engine light on, particularly in ‘90 and newer vehicles. If you bring in your car, truck, or SUV into Mr. Muffler or MGR Mufflers, we will perform a free engine light check and/or physical inspection of your car to determine if your efficiency or run-ability issue is related to your catalytic converter or another part of your exhaust system. Faulty and broken catalytic converters require replacement. Sometimes we are not able to know what your car needs over the phone, that is why we stand by our motto of “Free Estimates”. Walk-ins are welcome and if you call us, we will try our best to help you as best as we can with the issues your vehicle is having. All of our weld work is backed by a lifetime guarantee.

Where is the Emission Control Information

Be prepared when you call us. Your Emission Control Information label is located in the engine compartment. It is in a clear visible position, most often directly on the underside of the hood. The following diagram below can help you locate your vehicles label. This number allows owners, parts suppliers and service providers to determine specifications and find catalytic converters that are California Compliant with the Automative Emission Regulation and Smog Requirements. Many vehicles may have several different configurations, this number will provide specific information about the emissions control system and exact standards that a vehicle was designed to meet.
